Monteverdi: Maria Vespers
The Nederlands Kamerkoor will once again (after a long time) perform Monteverdi’s Maria Vespers. The choir was the first to perform this magnificent work in the Netherlands, on July 4th, 1951, at a concert during the Holland Festival. A year earlier – exactly 60 years ago – they performed it for Dutch Radio. And now, 400 years after the initial premiere, the Nederlands Kamerkoor will sing it again, with early music ensemble La Sfera Armoniosa led by Mike Fentross.
