New CD being produced

In the Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam the Nederlands Kamerkoor is busy recording a new CD for Channel Classics. The repertoire includes works by Eric Whitacre, Gabriel Jackson, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Anne Boyd and György Ligeti, brought together under the title Dreaming of Flying Machines.
The conductor is Peter Dijkstra, with whom the choir recorded another CD, in June of this year, of the complete motets of Bach (due for release in January 2008.) There have already been performances of the Dreaming of Flying Machines programme in Gouda and Coevorden, the latter concert proving a particularly pleasant surprise for everyone: a beautiful church, filled to the brim with an enthusiastic audience which had come specially for the first ever concert by the Nederlands Kamerkoor in this town.
Two more performances complete this concert series, on November 8th in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t Ij, and on November 9th in the Pieterskerk in Utrecht. Later this season KRO Radio 4, the Nederlands Kamerkoor’s media partner, will broadcast the concert in its entirety.
