The St Jacobskerk, with its somewhat dry acoustics, was the ideal location for this music.” [...] “The arrangement of the singers in a circle was interesting and effective. It was this positioning that made the melodic lines flow together so well. The attentively listening singers were at the same time producing the right vibrations and emotions. The audience paid breathless attention to this rich music, so full of nuances. So finely executed, that last trill on the final note, so subtle the accompanying humming in the rondo of Horlay, so wonderful that flawless intonation in the Sanctus of Binchois. The Lamentatio by De Orto was impressive, with a sublime interpretation of the first words (such as Aleph and Beth). Those undulating, flowing legato lines were delightful, just heavenly music.
