Nieuwe Nederlandse Oogst
Tue 31.03.2009 — 20:00 hrs
Grote Kerk Enschede in Enschede
The Nederlands Kamerkoor has for more than 60 years played a pivotal role as patron and interpreter of new Dutch choral music. So it more or less speaks for itself that this season it is again time for an update on the latest products of the pen and new acquisitions on native soil. And what acquisitions these are!
The latest works by Bernard van Beurden, Eric Verbugt, Elmer Schönberger and Mathias Kadar, written for the Nederlands Kamerkoor.
Van Beurden has been a well-known ‘grand old man’ of the Dutch stage for more than forty years. Elmer Schönberger has, like Michal Hamel, proved himself in several different fields. Schönberger’s music is as refined as Hamel’s can be virtuosic and hilarious. Eric Verbugt has recently enjoyed successes in the ZaterdagMatinee on Radio 4; as far as the Kamerkoor is concerned, he has concentrated on Dante’s Divina Commedia. And Matthias Kader is, as chansonnier and reciter, the person to keep track of Paul Celan’s texts.
In short, it’s going to be a real tasting session, and not only for specialists and connoisseurs, but for all inquisitive lovers of the exciting music which our own time produces.
